REMINDER: Coach Seth must submit the team roster to "The League" by Thursday before every Saturday meet. Each team is allowed 4 swimmer substitutions the morning of the meet. What does this all mean? Barring unforseen illnesses or accidents, if you know your child is not able to swim at a Saturday meet, there is a notebook at every practice that has each of the meet dates on top of its own page. If your swimmer will not be able to make it to a meet, please add their name to the date they'll miss. For Saturday meets, we need to know by Tuesday's practice that you'll be absent. This is very important. We turn in the meet entries in advance and are only allowed a few scratches and substitutions per meet. Doing this will give other swimmers the opportunity to swim while ensuring WOW doesn't miss an opportunity to earn points. Thanks!
The Waves of Westlake are a summer swim team that competes in the PrinceMont Swim League against teams from Montgomery, Prince George’s and Charles Counties. The league is dedicated to fair competition and fun for all kids from ages 5 to 18, from top notch swimmers to those just starting out. If you have the desire, we will teach you the technique. Practices are daily in the summer mornings from June to July (see link to the left) and regular season meets are on Saturday mornings. The home pool for the Waves in 2010 is the Hampshire Neighborhood pool.
